Turn Your Energy Meter into a Water Meter: How to Easily Report Water Usage

Export your Water Usage Data

Similar to our energy data export feature, our water data export feature was created to help you save a lot of time across your farming operations and reporting. Now you can simply go to Wexus' "Export Info" page, click a few buttons, and download several years or specific months of water usage data for specific irrigation pumps - and in the EXACT format you need to meet regulations (i.e. SGMA, Dept of Water Resources SB88, etc).

This can significantly help your farm's certified crop advisors (CCAs), administrators, accountants, and sustainability managers by cutting down the amount of hours spent rolling trucks to pump sites and manually inputting water flowmeter usage data into spreadsheets every month.

To export your water usage data:

1. Go to the "Export Info" button on the Wexus homepage
2. Select your ranch or irrigation pump names
3. Select the type of report you want to generate (General or reporting formats for specific counties and agencies in California)
4. Select the time period
5. Click the "Export Water Data" button
6. Download your Excel file in csv format

How Does Wexus Generate My Water Usage Data?

Wexus calculates your water data by three unique methods

1. From a hardware device tied to a digital flowmeter installed at your pump, and connected to a cloud-based cellular network. 
2. From estimated water usage based on a baseline pump test with your pump’s rated flow (GPM) + actual energy usage from each month’s utility bill and electric meter reading.
3. From flow meter data you’ve manually input on your Wexus dashboard .

How Does It Work?

We take many different data sources and combine them in one place. This data includes your utility billing and energy meter usage data, equipment specifications like pump type/size/flow rate/efficiency rating, geolocation of your utility meters to tag your building/pump/solar array locations, pump on/off status if you have real-time IoT tracking hardware installed, utility billing rate plan by meter, your pump efficiency rating & water usage from flow meters, and cost intensity by dollars per acre-foot of water pumped ($/AF). 

What Else Does It Do?

Click on the "pump" icon to see a quick run-down of its real-time status: whether the pump is on or off so you can verify if your irrigator is following your irrigation plan, your energy cost to pumping in dollars per acre-foot ($/AF), your current pump efficiency level and overall trend across the year, and the real cost of pumping at various times of day based on your utility rate plan and peak/partial/off peak charges.
