Project
Under a project sponsored by the California Energy Commission (CEC), Giacomazzi Dairy collaborated with Wexus Technologies to provide software to track energy & water usage & costs in real-time for 15 irrigation pumps, 4 buildings & 4 additional pieces of equipment at 8 ranches in Hanford, CA. With Wexus software, Giacomazzi Dairy now had the ability to disaggregate energy & water usage down to the day & the hour, & get alerted to pump peak energy consumption via additional monitoring hardware installed at specific pumps. This allowed Giacomazzi Dairy’s owner to see how certain efficiency measures impacted his real cost of irrigation, as well as actionable data to make better pump maintenance decisions & track depleting groundwater aquifer levels for recently-drilled wells.
Results
To date, Wexus software has identified over 19,200 kWh in energy savings and over $25,250 in cost savings for Giacomazzi, and driven 155,193 kWh in energy usage reduction.
